Have Questions? We want to help answer them.

We understand the importance of trust between a patient and provider, and that trust is fostered by transparency and communication. We’ve provided a list of answers to some of the common questions that we receive, but please let us know if you don’t find your answer here.

At Payson Walk-In Clinic, you have direct access to your Provider and will interact with him directly from start to finish.

When you arrive, head to the exam room to discuss your health needs and concerns. If you can be treated at the clinic, we will gather your relevant medical history, conduct the examination, and provide you with a treatment plan that you approve.

Your treatment team consists of you and your Provider. If you agree to any tests or labs, we will inform you of the reason for the test and the cost, with or without insurance.

When you arrive, if the inner office door is closed, the Provider is with another patient. Please wait in our lobby and complete the one-page intake form. The Provider will be with you as soon as possible.

Because we are a walk-in clinic, patients without appointments are seen on a first-come, first-served basis.

Absolutely! If you don’t have an existing Provider, or you would like to change Providers, Payson Walk-In Clinic can provide a full range of services to help you be healthy and stay that way. Appointments are available, or just walk-in.

Though we are not an urgent care clinic, we also offer same-day, walk-in service when you need it most. Urgent care is similar to a traditional clinic in terms of insurance and process. A walk-in clinic is as convenient as urgent care, with a better overall experience that puts you in control of your care. Though some more serious illnesses and conditions are better suited for an urgent care facility, feel free to contact us and we can help you determine where you should be heading.

Yes! You can schedule your appointment on our website, give us a call or stop in and we will get you scheduled when it is most convenient for you.

There are several reasons why we are a self-pay clinic and do not accept insurance. Some of the most impactful reasons are to lower costs to keep your healthcare affordable, reduce the number of staff needed for coding, billing, and documenting, and also to save you the time, effort, and headaches that occur when insurance is involved.

Most importantly, your Provider can spend more time and attention with you, instead of the insurance company.

To accept insurance, the clinic must sign a contract agreeing to charge the rates dictated by the insurance company. At Payson Walk-In Clinic, we believe that you should be charged fairly and affordably, not what large corporations or the government decide you should pay for healthcare. Just like if you were getting your hair cut, your car fixed, or were dining out.

Because we aren’t bound by insurance company interference, our process is highly streamlined and affordable. We can charge less because we charge what is right and as fair as possible, not what we’re told to.

We do accept FSA and HSA cards. Also, if you have a Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) you have the option for out-of-network benefits. Self-pay care is considered out-of-network. Payson Walk-In Clinic will provide you with an invoice, and you can then file paperwork with your PPO to have that payment applied to your deductible and you will work with your PPO directly for processing or should any issues arise.

If you have a Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) those plans generally don’t allow for out-of-network. You can submit your invoice for reimbursement; however, it will depend on your plan and servicer.

Health insurance covers a yearly wellness exam with routine lab work included. If you get sick or have to see your Provider for something else, you generally have to pay a co-pay. We offer a free consultation to help you check your plan or find out how Payson Walk-In Clinic can save you money.

Generally, you have to meet your deductible before your health plan begins. Most people have High Deductible Health Plans (HDHP) which makes primary healthcare expensive until your plan is active.

The Kaiser Family Foundation reported that the average deductible was $2,378 for a single and $4,816 for a family plan. At Payson Walk-In Clinic, the price is a straightforward $59 per visit. To learn what you can save, simply deduct $59 from your insurance expenses, and that’s how much you would save.

In the event of a true medical emergency, call 911 or visit the Hospital. Payson Walk-In Clinic does not treat traumas, broken bones, chest pain, shortness of breath, extreme headaches, and stroke symptoms. Those are medical emergencies and should be treated as such for your well-being.

Urgent Care is a great option if you need an X-ray to rule out a fracture versus going to the Emergency Room for example.

However, if you need same-day treatment for something that is not a medical emergency Payson Walk-In Clinic can provide you quality affordable care that you deserve; with an individualized treatment plan and follow-up that only a small, private clinic can provide.

Insurance companies typically charge $60-$100 for an urgent care co-pay and $150-$250 for an emergency room visit. Any additional costs are your responsibility in full until your deductible is met.

In addition, according to the Urgent Care Association, the average visit is $150-$200. Your cost at Payson Walk-In Clinic is only $59. That means if your visits cost $175 you will get $116 in SAVINGS! In addition, American Family Care reports the average cost for an emergency room visit is $1300, a rather significant increase from the $59 we charge!

Yes, Payson Walk-In Clinic treats patients of all ages. However, depending on the presenting symptoms, infants under 6 months may be referred to a pediatrician. In this event, you will not be charged for your visit with us.

Your provider is an experienced and skilled Family Nurse Practitioner and legally can treat children of all ages. He can also accept the responsibility of being your little ones’ Primary Care Provider. However, the clinic does not offer vaccinations, and some developmental issues are often better left to a Provider who specializes in pediatrics.

Unfortunately, we do not accept AHCCCS. Arizona law prohibits AHCCCS patients from paying cash for health services.

Yes! However, Payson Walk-In Clinic does not accept Medicare insurance or participate in the Medicare program. You will be asked to sign a form stating that you will not submit your bill for services to Medicare for reimbursement.

If you do not have insurance, Payson Walk-In Clinic can provide a price estimate for the services we agree upon as a treatment team to provide you. If you have insurance, we will submit the orders through it.

In addition, insurance companies reimburse Providers at a higher rate on the acuity (severity of the patient’s visit). Ordering more tests and labs will often increase the Provider’s reimbursement. Payson Walk-In Clinic does not make additional money by ordering more labs, imaging, or referrals.
